When insurance carriers receive a request from a health care provider for reimbursement for health care
provided in an emergency or for immediate post-injury medical care as defined in workers’ compensation
system rules (28 Texas Administrative Code §§133.21 and 28 TAC §180.12), the doctor is not required to be
on the Division of Workers’ Compensation (Division) Approved Doctor List (ADL) in order to be reimbursed.
