Texas Self-Insurance Association

Over the years, TSIA has testified before legislative and administrative committees and boards, filed complaints and objections on proposed rules before the Texas Workers Compensation Commission and the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI).

We also advocate to protect the rights of companies trying to preserve the privilege of self-insurance.
To accomplish these goals, we regularly communicate with legislators and TDI officials about self insurance issues to give our members a voice in the legislative and regulatory process.

In addition, TSIA communicates with our members through special bulletins and Web site updates to keep them apprised of developments in the regulated community. 

TSAI sponsors an annual educational conference bringing together employers with respected speakers and regulators in the self-insurance and workers’ compensation communities.  At these conferences, TSIA provides continuing education courses approved by TDI and the Texas Society for Certified Accountants. 

This year’s TSIA Educational Conference will be held in Austin, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on October 16, 2006.  The conference is open to all employers.

TSIA will continue to use its influence and strength of membership to ensure that the interests of the self-insured member companies remain top of mind at TDI.
